I know it hasn't been exactly 4 weeks since my last post, but I just had to update you on my progress.

It has only been a few weeks since my last posts, but already the girls are all chiming in about the anti wrinkle cream, Replexion.

I am so excited I can barely sit still as I write this!

Four weeks to the day after getting my Replexion anti-wrinkle cream, I have started to see results--and not kinda sorta results--REAL results!

I was like a kid at Christmas!

Now, it took a day or so longer than I estimated to get to me because I didn't put a rush order on it. I probably should have, but was gun shy about spending the extra money.

The first thing I noticed about Replexion is its light, pleasant smell and consistency. It also wasn't oily like so many of the supposed best wrinkle creams out there were.

I mean, who wants a wrinkle cream that feels heavy or oily?

Replexion Looks Promising

So, today I ran across a product called Replexion that I am very interested in trying. It has a great number of ingredients that have been proven to reduce wrinkles, and comes with solid money back guarantee (no strings).

A one month supply costs $99.99 dollars, however, it may be a worth expense as the ingredients list has my hopes up tremendously!

As most of you who have followed me on my travels know, I have shelled out quite a bit of money on ant-wrinkle creams that just did not work. Some of them even claimed to be the best anti wrinkle cream on the market, while not having a single ingredient in them that was proven to reduce wrinkles.

Taking a Break From The Hunt

Not to sound like a defeatist, but with the Holidays and the following New Year approaching, it does seem like my search for the best wrinkle cream is in vain!

Most of the wrinkle creams I purchased did not work. Others are over priced with offers that seem to be geared to bilk innocent folks out of their money.

I don’t know about you, but I find this all a little disconcerting.

I know that I have run across plenty of ingredients that I feel would work well in an anti wrinkle cream, but it seems noe one cares. While a handful of anti wrinkle creams have some of these ingredients, many have ineffective components that have not been proven to get rid of wrinkles.

I even found a site that had the top ten anti wrinkle creams listed, but investigation showed that the products weren’t even manufactured any more due to customer complaints.

The site itself was old, but the facial wrinkle creams should have still been viable – if they were any good.

I spoke with the other girls and they are just as frustrated—however, we all made a promise to at least wait until 2008 before resigning ourselves to defeat.

When trying to compare wrinkle creams, the top four things I looks for include:

Customer service
Value
Reputation

Both Hydroderm and Demitage lose out on all four categories.

Claiming to be among the best wrinkle creams on the market, both products consistently meet with claims that their anti wrinkle cream does not work.

The highest complaint is that they offer supposed “free trials” that end up scamming customers into a “membership offer’ that automatically debits their credits cards every month. I know I mentioned this in a prior post, but it bears repeating.

I was once burned with another type of product and it was very difficult to get out of. I was out hundreds of dollars. My credit card took another couple of hits and I had to close my account and open a new one to stop the charges.

I find these types of business practices deplorable and unethical, so ladies, before you buy anti-wrinkle creams, be wary of supposed “free offers “ , like he ones offered by the makers of Hydroderm and Demitage.

That said, I still have hope that quality anti wrinkle creams do indeed exists, and I feel as if I am days away from discovering the best wrinkle cream around!

Freeze 24/7: A Wrinkle Cream with mixed results

I thought the name Freeze 24/7 was cute. I totally got it. Freeze, as in time and wrinkles. As the name of an anti-wrinkle cream, it was ingenious.

Too bad it didn't work; in fact, the only thing I would say Freeze 24/7 was able to supply was a huge dose of disappointment with a $115 price tag attached.

From what I read, Freeze was supposed to get rid of fine lines and wrinkles within 10minutes. Some women even reported that it was a great anti wrinkle eye cream.

Because I have wrinkles and bags around my eyes, I was excited about the claim. For me, locating a product that was an anti wrinkle facial cream as well as the best eye wrinkle cream on the market, was a real boon.

So, I ordered it, and a few weeks later, I am still looking for the wonderful surprising results promised on the website.

I will say that customer service was a dream and it wasn't too much of a hassle getting my money back, but this doesn’t help me get rid of wrinkles.

I am so surprised that Freeze 24/7 is a highest rated wrinkle cream, but then, some women said it worked for them. Although it had a few noteworthy ingredients, they reduced nary a wrinkle.

Do you guys recall how I was a bit peeved about the heaviness of most anti wrinkle creams available on the market today? Well, I ran across another ingredient that would be great if it were used in one of the best anti wrinkle creams out there!

It is called Hyaluronic Acid, or HA:

Ever on the hunt for real, proven ingredients that reduce wrinkles, I located an agent called Palmitoyl Oligopeptide.

I call it PO for short ( for clarity — most people are gonna look at that word and go Pal-whooziwhata, so lets just give the long named agents initials shall we…)

Anyway, the great thing about PO is that it has been scientifically proven to create collagen production and stimulate the growth of the deep connective tissues of the skin.

This would be especially important in an anti wrinkle cream.

Now that we have spent quite some time going over ingredients that don't work, I finally stumbled upon a few that do, and not a moment too soon! My friends and I were just about to toss our hands up in the air in frustration.

Seriously, it seemed as if all four of us were running up against a brick wall in regards to our search for the best wrinkle cream available today.

Luckily, I remember reading about an agent called Acetyl Hexapeptide-3, and decided to see if it was currently being used in an anti-wrinkle cream.

I found several products that did have it, which made me very happy—we will discuss some of those in the weeks to come.

Why does the fact that Acetyl Hexapeptide-3 is used in some of the best wrinkle creams excite me? Because this ingredient has been compared to Botox in that it can reduce and get rid of wrinkles, yet, it isn't as harsh nor does it have debilitating potential side effects.

Kinetin Leaves More Questions Than Answers

Kinetin (N6-furfuryladenine) Kinetin, or N6-furfuryladenine, is one of the few ingredients that left me with a huge question mark after my research. This is because the powerful natural antioxidant has been shown to significantly reduce damage caused by free radicals. Reducing free radicals has been shown to help an individual look younger.

A plant hormone, Kinetin can provoke cell division and aid in cellular growth and differentiation, a process that would be an essential anti wrinkle component.

But does this translate into being useful in a topical anti wrinkle cream?

I can't honestly say.

Some studies seem to indicate it could be beneficial in facial creams or under eye creams, but long term testing hasn't been done, leaving the collected data inconclusive. If I routinely plunk down good money for the best anti-wrinkle cream on the market, I don't want to deal in hypotheticals. I want to be assured it works.

Who knows how beneficial Kinetin may be if ingested, but as far as topical applications go, it may not be helpful at all.

In regards to my search, I want to find anti-wrinkle cream ingredients that are certified and proven to assist in the fight against aging.

Does GABA Reduce Wrinkles?

I called my girls today and it seems as if we have all stumbled upon the same significant fact.

After we compared notes, we discovered that, while many wrinkle creams have GABA (gamma amino butyric acid) in it, the amino acid might do very little for the prevention or eradication of wrinkles. In other words, some of the supposed best wrinkle creams on the market with GABA in it are little more than high priced moisturizers.

You see, GABA is an amino acid that acts as a neurotransmitter in your central nervous system. It is also essential for healthy brain function and appears to calm the brain as well as the body.

Just as with Botox, GABA is supposed to relax the muscles of the face so that wrinkles decrease. It is also said to provide this effect by being applied topically.

It just doesn't work that way.

The sad thing is, since most people aren't familiar with what this amino acid does, they will buy into the anti-wrinkle cream manufacturer's spiel about GABA. In reality, GABA won't be able to do very much to help get rid of wrinkles when applied externally.

That said, there are a few more ingredients I want to investigate, hopefully I will start locating things that have actually been clinically proven to work.

Idebenone as a Wrinkle Reducer

Another great antioxidant known as idebenone is in a league very similar to CoQ10, and as far as skin care goes, it looked a bit more promising than the other antioxidant.

Looks can be deceiving.

It is well known that those who take idebenone as a supplement can greatly enhance brain system, immune system and nervous system function.

What's better, when applied externally, idebenone can eliminate free radicals on and under the skin's surface. Yet and still, there is no research that supports the use of idebenone as a wrinkle reducer.

It's use in anti wrinkle creams have been a bit overblown and under documented. One can't say with any clarity as to if it does eradicate under eyes wrinkles or any other kind of facial wrinkle.

Yes, idebenone is extremely beneficial to the human body; however, just because something works well internally doesn’t mean it will do as well externally. By that logic, rubbing a tomatoes all over my face should be just as healthy as eating it.

Beg to differ!

With so many stops and starts in this arena, it would appear that finding the best anti-wrinkle creams out there is a bit of a challenge!

But, the eradication of wrinkles is a worthy pursuit, and as such, I will forge ahead!

CoQ10 For Wrinkle Reduction

One of my girlfriends who's is on the hunt for the best wrinkle creams out there alongside of me, is also a cosmetologist. Not only is she a whiz with make up, she knows how to minimize the effects of aging with little tricks that can fool a camera.

However, as we have both stated, it would be so much better to get rid of winkles as opposed to try to figure out how to cover them up.

Since she was well aware of my diligent search for primo anti wrinkle cream ingredients, she decided to do a bit of research too.

Today, she forwarded me some information about an agent called CoQ10 that you may find helpful.

Now, to be sure, CoQ10 is an extremely powerful antioxidant, which I have been well aware of for years. It wasn't until recently however that I discovered that it has been purported to be a useful ingredient in wrinkle creams.

This confused me, since I know that CoQ10 has a molecular structure similar to Vitamin ,K. While it does fight free radicals and has helped people who suffer from diabetes Parkinson disease and angina, no one can say for sure if it is truly beneficial as an anti-wrinkle or under eye wrinkle cream.

So yes, CoQ10 may be good for the body, but may not do a thing for wrinkles!

Info About Wrinkle Cream Ingredients

To date, I am very gun shy about buying certain anti-wrinkle cream products -- I mean, it just seems as if there is a veritable wasteland of bad or ineffective wrinkle creams out there, and I want to be a bit more prepared in regards to what I am willing to buy.

Since I am a pharmacist by trade, I decided to try a different tact and explore viable products based on their ingredients.

One of the first ingredients up to bat is copper peptide, which can be found in many wrinkle creams.

This molecule, which is also called a complex peptide, contains copper. The peptide can encourage the body's own healing mechanisms as well as help wounds heal. It may aid tissue regeneration and in some cases, copper peptides, by themselves, can stimulate collagen production in the skin.

In my mind, the jury is still out on Copper Peptides. I know, for instance, that CP's have routinely been used to heal the skin after cosmetic procedures and often times, to counteract irritations caused by Retin-A.

However, since a wrinkle is little more than a fold in the skin and is not a wound, copper peptides may or may not be effective as a wrinkle treatment.

I'll have to see what I think in regards to copper peptides as I continue my research and will be sure to post my findings here in the weeks to come.

Athena Seven Minute Miracle -- A review

Rather expensive, the Athena Seven Minute Miracle anti-wrinkle cream miracle clocks in at almost a hundred dollars. I sincerely felt that if this stuff costs so much it had to do what it said.

Taking a cue from the Deception and Hydroderm debacles, I made it a point to do a bit of internet research prior to purchasing the anti-wrinkle face cream. I discovered that Athena was a company in good standing, not only with the BBB but with customers as well. I felt less unsure about plopping my money down.

I tried what many said was the best anti wrinkle cream on the market and what can I say—-it worked.

When I put the Athena Seven Minute Miracle on my under eyes wrinkles and laugh lines it did tighten them and in exactly seven minutes.

There was, however, a problem — the Athena wrinkle cream left a white residue that was hard to manipulate. Now, the accompanying DVD says that if you apply Athena correctly that won't happen.

However, I noted that if I tried to put too little of Athena Seven Minute Miracle on, it simply didn't work as well.

They also claim you can wear it under or over make up, but makeup tends to clump in the area where Athena is applied. If one is going to use Athena, they have to so it sparingly and with no makeup—-something a lot of women will be at loath to do.

So while Athena Seven Minute Miracle did do what it said, it is far too messy and hard to apply. Besides, I want something effortless that provides a long-term cure, not a quick fix…

Back to the old drawing board.

Blah! Deception Anti Wrinkle Cream Deceives

Today, I am a bit bummed out! I received my order of Deception anti-wrinkle cream, but unfortunately, I read some pretty bad reviews of the stuff prior to its arrival. I truly wished I had found this information out prior to ordering. Most people felt it didn't work for them and from what I understand, the better business bureau shows them to be in bad standing due to a large amount of unresolved complaints.

Well … that's just lovely.

I tried Deception anti-wrinkle cream anyway and I have to say, I understand why people are upset.

For one, the jar of Deception anti-wrinkle cream is small--really small--for forty bucks I expected something, well, a bit bigger. I only got 0.75 Ounces—what a jip!

Supposedly, the way the Deception anti wrinkle cream is supposed to work is via "Billions of light-refracting nano-prisms." These prisms are purported to deflect light, causing under eye wrinkles, facial wrinkles or crows feet to lessen to the naked eye--deceiving the eye so to speak.

I will say the Deception anti-wrinkle cream deceives all right--deceives people out of money.

The Deception cream smelled okay and went on smoothly, but I couldn't really see a significant change in my under eyes wrinkles or laugh lines. Very, very disappointing and hardly the best anti wrinkle cream on the market.

Wrinkle cream reviews – A group project

Okay, so today I got a call from my Reunion Pal Becky and I am so glad I did--she just saved me a 100 bucks! You see, I almost went for the Hydroderm anti-wrinkle cream free trial figuring, well, it can't hurt. If they are willing to let me try their anti-wrinkle cream for free, it must work, right?

Well, thing is, it isn't a real free trial. Hydroderm only lets you get the free wrinkle cream offer if you sign up for some kind of membership plan. With the plan, they "offer" to automatically bill your credit card every month. The poor saps who don't read the fine print and order this wrinkle cream will be stuck with a nasty $90 dollar surprise in their bank account on a monthly basis.

Opting out is supposedly murder too, as they will continue to bill you for a couple of months, even after cancellation of the anti-wrinkle cream orders. My friend Becky almost found out the hard way but escaped the fate by being warned by an acquaintance who wasn't so lucky.

So, I decide not to risk the headache and to moved on to the next anti-wrinkle cream on my list, namely Deception.

Said to be one of the best wrinkle creams out there, it seems like an okay investment since it only costs around forty bucks. We'll soon see what Deception can do…

Best Wrinkle Cream: The Hunt Goes on

So, today, I am on the lookout for the best wrinkle cream on the market and wonder how many frogs I will have to kiss before I find a Prince. I am hoping to get a bit lucky and land something fairly quickly, but I realize the law of averages are against me.

Even so, a woman can dare to dream!

I begin by looking up some of the bigger names in wrinkle creams like Dermitage, Hydroderm and Deception. I know about them because I see their advertisements everywhere. It made me a bit curious as to their effectiveness. I have my doubts though, since the pictures in the ads always look retouched to me, which says a lot about the company.

Deception Wrinkle Cream seemed the most cost effective with Hydroderm topping out at almost ninety dollars and Dermitage not far behind.

I figured I would do a bit of digging and research to find the best wrinkle cream amongst the three.

What I uncover will help me decide which to buy first as I try to locate an anti-wrinkle cream that works.

As the late, great Bogart used to say, "Here's looking at you kid!" and hopefully , that's what people will be doing when they see the new and improved me!

Anti-Wrinkle Cream Versus Botox / Restalyne Injections

You know, I toyed for some time with two options: purchasing an anti-wrinkle cream or going in for cosmetic injections like Botox or Restalyne.

As I don't like needles, I was leaning towards the anti-wrinkle cream solution, however, Botox injections are reported to give an instantaneous result and are supposedly pain free, so I did a little research.

What I uncovered about Botox / Restalyneinjections made me want to run screaming towards anti wrinkle creams!

A few of the more daunting aspects were:

* The Cost -- Botox, Restalyne and other such injections could range from $500 to $1,500 dollars a syringe. At those prices, they'd better make me look sixteen again for ten years!

* Pain free my behind! -- I actually stumbled upon pictures of a woman who had received Restalyne injections in her lips and under her eyes and she looked as if she had gotten punched in the face by world championship boxer! Also, from what she said, the injection site remained sore for days needing ice to be soothed.

This definitely made the facial wrinkle creams look more inviting.

* Scary Facts -- Injections like Botox could cause nerve damage in some patients and Restalyne could leave little bumps underneath the skin that could not be removed with surgery.

Pictures of botched results was enough to make me stick with the pursuit of anti-wrinkle creams exclusively.

So, this weeks research will involve a compiling a list of the best wrinkle creams and trying them out. Check back regularly to see what I have uncovered!

Reunion and wrinkles

There's just something about High School reunions that can bring on blissful nostalgia coupled with pre-Reunion apprehension. This is how I was feeling as my 25th Reunion approached.

Y'know, I was really looking forward to seeing how some of my old girl friends were getting on—however a couple of week before the event, I became more painfully aware of my under eye wrinkles and crows feet!

Granted, I am a 42 year old woman, but this doesn't take away from the fact that I want to look absolutely flawless at all times— who doesn't.

Well , surprise, surprise, I met up with my old high school chums and they were in the same boat as me. As soon as we caught up on old times, we found ourselves talking about our beauty regimens, and more importantly, how to get rid of wrinkles with wrinkle creams.

Sharon, whom I always considered to be the smartest one among us, came up with the idea of all of us girls trying out various wrinkle treatments and reporting back to one another.

As I have been toying with looking at an anti-wrinkle cream or two, the idea appealed to me.
